- I've been listening to a new record from one of my favorite rappers today.
- He goes by the name Lupe Fiasco.
- I'm sure most of you have heard of him, and if you haven't listened to him before then get on it!
- His records, Food and Liquor as well as the The Cool are a must to check out!
- His new record, "Lasers" dropped on March 4th, I recommend you give it a good listen!
- I couldn't find links to any of the songs off of "Lasers", so I'm gonna link you to one of my favorite songs by him from his older stuff, it's called "Daydreamin" off of Food and Liquor

Mountain TIme!
- I finally got up to Baker yesterday.
- The anticipation was building up and I was getting an anxious feeling in my gut on the ride up because it's been a long time...about 3 weeks!
- It was a lot of fun, I hiked the backcountry with my good friend Mark and his girlfriend Meg.
- It was clear for most of the day, so visibility was great!
- After we hiked for about a quarter mile, we found a great spot to build a jump.
- It took some time to get it done, but it was worth it!
- The snow was so thick and fluffy, that we could try any trick we wanted.
- It was like landing in a foam pit, so if we messed up in the air we wouldn't have to worry about getting hurt one bit. I wish every jump was like that : )
- We took some pictures, I'm waiting on Mark to send them to me.
- In the meantime you guys sit tight , and wait for my song of the week!

Let me tell you a story...
- With the song of the week!
- I realized that I have not put up any hip hop songs up for the song of the week yet.
- This surprises me because I listen to hip hop about 80% of the time these days!
- Anyway the song of the week is from one of my all time favorites...Outkast!
- The song is called Da Art of Storytellin' (Part 1)
- Listen to the lyrics, good stuff!
- You can listen to it right here --------> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9o5IWYquj5c

Big wheels keep on turnin...
- Today was awesome!
- I got some brand new wheels yesterday (Pictured Above) and they are soooo smooth!
- Nothing like riding on new wheels, they are your first contact point with the ground, so you can really feel them.
- I had a lot of fun breaking them in at an undercover lit spot tonight.
- With the continuing nastiness of this weather, I have to scrounge for dry spots to skate!
- Good thing the weather has added some snow accumulation to Baker, and I am going Friday for sure...I have not been up in about 3 weeks!
- I am heading up with my new roomie, so a good time is guaranteed for the both of us!
- Wish me luck on my journey.
- Alright you guys take it easy...I'm out!

It's that time again...
- For the song of the week!
- I know I am late on posting this, but I have another great song for you to caress your eardrums with...so don't fret!
- This one is from one of my favorite bands around.
- They go by the name "Protugal. The Man" these guys are sooooo good!
- They're from Alaska, and got big in Portland.
- The song I have for you is "The Sun" off of their record "The Satanic Satanist" (I know it sounds dark, but it really does not pertain to what the album is trying to coney)
- Give the whole album a listen when you get the chance, you won't regret it!
- Click here to listen! ------->http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ds2RrLNPAHc
- Enjoy this song, "The Sun" because the real one has not been deciding to show up in the past few weeks!

Troll Time!
- After living in Washington for 23 years I finally visited a Seattle Art Classic...
- The Fremont Troll!
- He's right under the Aurora Bridge, and he's amazing.
- If you get down there I highly suggest you stop at North 36th Street to visit him.
- He's way bigger than I thought, I even saw some kids fit their entire head into his left nostril...nice!
- Oh I got those new shoes I was talking about a few weeks ago. There they are sitting in my car.
- I'm pumped to skate them! Hopefully we'll get some more sunny weather, so can break 'em in soon...
- Alright that's all for now, I'm out!

- To put up my favorite song of the week!
- I know you have all been waiting on the edge of your seats to hear my new song of the week.
- Well, all that waiting has paid off!
- Your ears will be very happy with you after you allow them to hear this smooth track
- It's called "Mykonos" by Fleet Foxes (No, not "The" Fleet Foxes...just "Fleet Foxes")
- These guys are good!
- They got their big break in Seattle...wooo!
- Alright, enough reading and start listening here! http://www.youtube.com/watchv=xSB74LZDNr0

Night time is the right time...
- For a fun session! I had a good time skating tonight in a well lit, and undercover spot with a good friend.
- My iPod shuffle, board, and beverage (Pictured) was exactly what I needed today! Looks like I should have brought a ball to get down on some Foursquare too : ] I hope some good weather is in our near future so that I don't have to rely on spots like these.
- As for now I need to get on the planning so that I can make sure I get up to the mountain soon!
- I hope you guys had a great day, talk to you later...

Sustainable Decks...from animals?
- Here is an idea which I came up with for my sustainability marketing class.
- We were asked to incorporate the natural designs found in nature, into a product which would make it more sustainable. Here is my idea for decks.
- I read that horse hooves are among the most crack resistant materials found on earth!
- So I thought of making a compound which would mimic the chemical makeup of hooves.
- Then use this compound as plies for decks.
- Instead of using Maple for the plies, the "hoof plies" would be more sustainable - and way more resistant to cracking!
- I also was inspired by the "glue" mussels use in order to bond themselves to many surfaces - wet or dry for long periods of time.
- If we could somehow extract this natural "glue" our decks would have better resistance to chipping as well as water damage!
- Epoxy is nasty stuff for our environment, and using something natural, which is a lot stronger than our synthetic inventions would make a lot more sense, right?
- This biomimicry stuff is very interesting, and is applicable to almost any product with enough imagination!
- What is biomimicry you ask? Check it out here http://biomimicryinstitute.org/
- That's all I have for now, have a great day!

Jake Shimabukuro plays "Bohemian Rhapsody" | Video on TED.com
Skating was great today! Sunny Sunday was sooooo good! Here's a random picture of the skatepark here in Bellingham, this is where I was for a good portion of the day...
I have not posted anything music or art related yet, so now's a good time to start! I found this guy rippin up his ukele on TED.com. I have never heard anyone play a ukele like this before, check it out!

Which shoes to get? The never-ending question
Here's a little update on my on my skateboardiing gear. So yesterday was beautiful-so of course I went straight to the skatepark after class. I ended up breaking my board. But no big deal, I broke it when it started to get really dark. So I picked up a fresh new board today, and it feels great!
After skating the board today, I realized that now my feet don't feel so great, and I think it has a lot to do with the gaping holes in my shoes! I love the new griptape on a new board, but that stuff tears your shoes up like a blender. So here's some shoes I'm thinking about getting. Beautiful aren't they? :)

California...How I miss it!
These cold days have got me bummed lately. There is hardly any snow on Baker, and it's so wet and cold-that skateboarding is nearly impossible!
Thinking about the warm weather in California-the best place for skateboarding gives me a glimmer of hope for my future. Here is a pic from my last visit to Santa Monica, California last August. Looks beautiful doesn't it? Sigh....

Surprise Pictures!
Looks like someone was taking pics of me the night before our flight to Keystone! Our friend David let us stay at his place near Bellevue the night before our flight.
I had no idea he had built an undercover mini ramp...good thing I keep my skateboard in my trunk at all times! These are not the best pics ever, but at least I have a few to show you...enjoy!

Keystone!
I just got back from an incredible trip to Keystone, Colorado! The snow was so light and fresh compared to the stuff we get around here. The insane number of runs on the mountain leave me wanting more! The altitude made some people a little sick, but everyone survived; one beer up there equals roughly two and a half, so good times were had by all! I didn't get a chance to get pictures, but hopefully I can get on up to our home mountain (Baker) and get a few shots!

Welcome! to Music/Art/Skate/Snow... ya know?
Thanks for stopping by, here you will find posts by yours truly about the things I love most...skateboarding and snowboarding with a little music and art mixed in as well. I want to get some pictures and videos up here soon, but be patient because my skateboard hates wet pavement, and while snowboarding I need to find someone who rides with a cam. Hopefully I'll be able to bring in some visual goodies for you in the next few weeks!
That's all for the first post, I hope you liked it....I'm out!
